Ghana: Wynca Sunshine Boosts Yields of Farmers

Accra, Ghana, August 3, 2017 –Maize farmers in Ghana now have higher chances of increasing yield even in the light ofunfriendly weather conditions due to climate change, after the release of Wynca SunshineMaize High Yield Solution System.

The newly developed Crop Solutions Plan, has been piloted in nine different maize growing communities in the country, where farmers were able to record double yields.

Following the successes chalked through the pilot programme in collaboration with the Ministry of Food & Agriculture in areas such as the Upper ManyaKrobo and YiloKrobo Districts in the Eastern Region as well as the Nkoranza North and Nkoranza South Districts in the Brong Ahafo Region and lastly Boankra in the Ashanti Region, Wynca will be holding a field day on one of the demonstration fieldsthis coming Thursday to increase awareness for its improved maize solutions.

These results demonstrate the power of advanced technology to help the farmers despitethe unpredictable weather conditions and increased crop volatility due to climate change.  More than 90 percent of smallholder farmers depend solely on rainfall to maintain their crops.
