First Nation MD Remanded Over Theft, Forgery

Lagos, Nigeria, March 16, 2018// – Justice Mojisola Dada of an Ikeja Special Offences Court on Friday ordered the remand of Kayode Odukoya, Managing Director of First Nation Airlines in the custody of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over alleged theft of N1.7 billion.

Dada made this order following the arraignment of Odukoya by the EFCC.

Mr. Odukoya is facing a four-count charge bordering on forgery, use of false document, perjury and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

First Nation was also charged alongside Bellview Airlines are as second and third defendants in the suit.

In view of the defendant’s plea, the Lead Prosecutor for the EFCC, M. S. Usman, asked the Court to remand Odukoya.

“My Lord, I urge the Court to remand the defendant pending the trial date.

“On three occasions before today’s proceedings, the defendant had frustrated his arraignment,” Mr. Usman said.

John Odugbela, Counsel to Mr. Odukoya, informed the Court that he had filed an application for the bail of his client, which had been served on the Prosecution.

Justice Dada thereafter adjourned the matter till March 26, for hearing of bail application.
