The same year Dr. Mittal was crowned with the most prestigious “SCOPE Excellence Award for Individual Leadership 2014-15 under the category (Maharatna/ Navratna)” in recognition of his consistent performance and pioneering approach to the business which is trusted widely in the industry.
The award also recognizes extraordinary leadership skills with a deep beneficial impact on the wider community and society.
Also, this award honoured the stellar role played by Dr. Mittal in setting policy framework for business and carving successful growth strategy in a competitive market. The award was presented to him by the Honourable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee on April 11, 2017 in New Delhi.
Other awards he won are: Glimpses of Engineering Personalities Title 2016; IGBC Green Champion 2016; Excellence in Built Environment 2014-15; News Ink PSU Shining Award 2016; PSE Excellence Award 2016, CEO of The Year 2015; The Bizz Award 2016 and Life Time Achievement Award 2016.

Furthermore, Dr Mittal is also conferred with two honorary doctorates in the fields of Management and Civil & Construction Engineering for his exemplary achievements.
