Clean Energy and Environment Conference slated for November

Accra, September 25, 2017//-The Sixth West African Clean Energy Environment Exhibition and Conference (WACEE) takes place from the 7th to 9th November this year at the Accra International Conference Centre. For the fourth consecutive time, WACEE will feature an official made in Germany pavilion.

The event will focus on renewable energy generation, energy efficiency, electrical engineering, environmental technology, waste recycling, water and sewage treatment.

During this top level 3-day conference, prominent speakers and audience of leaders from politics, business and the renewable energy sector will discuss key issues under the theme “Renewable Energy and Environmental Technologies in the Context of Sustainable Development: Future Challenges and Directions”.

Mr. Maximilian Butek, Delegate, Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK Ghana), said from our engagement with the stakeholders in the clean energy and waste management sectors in the country, we acknowledged a sincere interest in cleaner energy and proper management.

He said from a Ghanaian perspective, however, even though environment is important, fast development raising the living standards of the people in both the short and long term is paramount.

“The target of WACEE 2017 is two-fold; to demonstrate the economic and environmental benefits of the products and technologies on display, and to show the linkage between the implementation of these products and technologies and Ghana’s and the sub-region’s sustainable development”, he explained.

The German pavilion is presented by the Federal German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in cooperation with Association of the German Trade Fair Industry and supported by AHK Ghana.

I addition to a strong governmental support from Ghana and West Africa. It also enjoys support of Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Inclusive Business Action Network (IBAN), German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation among others.

Meanwhile, the event is organized by fairtrade, a leading organisers of professional international trade fairs in emerging markets, especially in North and Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
