Accra: Uber Moves into Bigger Greenlight Hub to Cater for More Driver-partners

Accra, April 21, 2018// –  In a move that further demonstrates its commitment to West Africa and Africa as a whole, Uber announced that its Greenlight Hub in Accra has moved to a bigger location.

The Greenlight Hub is a support centre for driver-partners. It is strategically located at the Advantage Place, Mayor Road, Ridge in Accra will be open six days a week, and will serve as a resource centre where existing and potential driver-partners can receive support for app-related inquiries.

Commenting on the new move, Country Manager Uber Ghana, Kofi Agyare said: “The Greenlight Hub is a support centre specifically for driver-partners where they are provided with established channels of communication to raise individual questions and concerns that they may have”.

He continued: “The new location is centrally located and much more accessible to the constantly growing base of drivers, thereby making output more efficient. We aim for driver-partners to have the best customer experience enhanced by solid processes, well-trained Experts and cutting-edge technology”.

“We have also ensured that the driver signup process is easy and seamless, with additional onsite support provided by our team of well-trained Experts at the Greenlight Hub.”

“Uber’s commitment to Africa is further re-emphasized by our level of substantial investments into the Greenlight Hubs across Sub-Saharan Africa,” Uber General Manager for West Africa, Ms Lola Kassim said.

She that they were focused on ensuring that driver-partners – who are key pillars in their business – receive the right kind of technological and on-site support.

“Once existing and prospective driver-partners arrive at the Greenlight Hub, they are promptly attended to by our well-trained and professional Greenlight Uber Experts.

There are no costs associated with driver-partners utilizing the Greenlight Hub, we respect them as valuable partners with a voice and a choice and we want them to feel that they can talk to us about anything at any time.”

In June 2016, Uber officially launched operations in Ghana – taking off in the economically vibrant city of Accra. A year later the company expanded into the metropolitan city of Kumasi, offering a friendly and reliable complement to existing transport options, creating thousands of economic opportunities across the city, and Ghana as a whole.

Late last year, Bozoma Saint John’ Uber’s Chief Brand Officer visited Ghana, where she attended a full day event with the local Uber team, various driver-partners and policymakers.

Uber is part of a broader mobility movement as is always exploring more opportunities to increase its economic investment on the continent.
